Why we exist

On assuming the Chair of African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA), His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta set his agenda outlining key results-based priority areas including establishment of Youth Armies in African countries as a broader social movement to fight malaria, improve maternal and child health, and improve access to universal healthcare. (ALMA is a ground-breaking coalition of African Union Heads of State and Government working across 55 African countries with various partners including Regional Economic Communities and development partners to eliminate malaria by 2030).
The youth armies will thus ensure that at continental and regional levels, young people are mobilized through existing accountability structures to contribute to ending malaria and expanding Universal Health Coverage.
It is upon this premise that we, the Kenyan youth, alongside our fellow youth across Africa, are advancing action towards malaria elimination, and achievement of Universal Health Coverage. We are increasingly passionate about effecting social change and building the lives we want for ourselves.
